IP-based control from L-S-B

L-S-B Broadcast Technologies is showcasing its IP-based overall broadcast control system, Virtual Studio Manager (VSM), which manages, supervises and controls a complete production environment via a freely configurable GUI.

L-S-B says that its goal for VSM is to abstract the physical hardware from all control interface and logic requirements. It does this by directly interfacing to third party broadcast equipment, such as video and audio routers and switchers, consoles multiviewer systems and so on, over native protocols.

According to the company, this toolbox allows customers to directly combine the control parameters of the broadcast system into custom and workflow-optimised user interfaces for enhanced simplicity and speed. As an example, control panels would no longer be dedicated to a single device, but might control any parameter of the broadcast system in an optimised layout and workflow.

Since the VSM is IP-based and independent from hardware manufacture restrictions, L-S-B claimed it could be implemented easily and work seamlessly with many studio, OB van and MCR environments, offering a scalable platform for future development.

On its Hall 8 stand, L-S-B is also demonstrating new hardware and a complete workflow in a MCR and studio complex and examples for remote production environments.
