Has IBC come at a good time for the electronic media industry? Why? Well, speaking personally it is definitely good timing as we are able to show for the first time at IBC the Studer Infinity processing technology and D23M I/O controller running on the Vista X mixing platform. This platform will grow in capacity at a rate close to doubling every 18-24 months as it is based on X86 technology, therefore protecting our customers’ investment for the future.
What do you think are the key developments in, or threats to, your market sector at the current time? Interoperability is key. Whether AES67, Dante, Livewire, Ravenna or other standards, it’s important that suppliers offer seamless integration. At Studer we chose to achieve this through interfacing to these AoIP networks as well as our own developments — for instance our A-Link interface offers and close partnerships based on our A-Link interface with Riedel, Evertz and Artel.

Anyone interested in the next generation of routing, distributed I/O-sharing and advanced mixing systems should benefit from spending time with our team on the booth. We will be demonstrating new products for all forms of broadcast audio, and delegates can meet our technical team, assembled from the UK, Switzerland, Asia Pacific and South America — not to mention products from our Harman cousins, AKG, JBL and Soundcraft.
