Vienna Opera streams 4K live

The Vienna State Opera will broadcast Verdi’s Nabucco, starring Placido Domingo, live at 7pm CET. The Opera makes nearly all of its 2014/2015 season production available via the internet, smart tv and mobile devices. The Vienna Opera has developed its own Wiener Staatsoper Samsung smart TV app with fully integrated UHD playout functionality.

Elemental video processing will be used to stream the event using, HEVC delivered via MPEG-DASH. The workflow for the event was designed Austrian company ETAS High Tech Hardware Systems. Delivery of the 4K streams will be managed by Ooyala.
