UK first as EFL matches make live streaming debut

New service iFollow launches tonight

The English Football League will make history tonight as it streams two live matches for the first time.

The EFL is launching streaming service iFollow which will show midweek games outside of bank holidays and not shown live on Sky Sports, and will cost £10 per match.

iFollow is being used by 58 of the 72 EFL clubs. It is available through a club’s official website or app, and viewers will also be able to keep up to date with scores from around the games, with live text updates provided as goals are scored.

The EFL says the service will also benefit overseas subscribers with “enhanced production values” being made in all locations, despite international prices remaining frozen from 2017/18 when the service was introduced to overseas subscribers. Audio commentary is also available to both overseas and domestic supporters.
