Freeview releasing mobile app

Freeview is releasing a new mobile app, FreeviewPlus, which will place all of it’s Australian free-to-air catch up services in a single place. Every Australian FTA broadcaster will be a part of the app including SBS, which recently returned to Freeview. The announcement comes shortly after Freeview Plus stated that 580,000 homes now have Freeview Plus

Freeview is releasing a new mobile app, FreeviewPlus, which will place all of it’s Australian free-to-air catch up services in a single place.

Every Australian FTA broadcaster will be a part of the app including SBS, which recently returned to Freeview.

The announcement comes shortly after Freeview Plus stated that 580,000 homes now have Freeview Plus.

“We’re especially glad to welcome SBS back to the Freeview family.”

“It’s clear that consumers are in charge of their viewing and they want the flexibility to watch what they want, when they want, on the best available screen at the time even when out of home.”

“Freeview has responded to changing viewing habits and we are excited about the FreeviewPlus multi-screen future.”

As part of the release, the FreeviewPlus television service will also see an upgrade, allow viewers access to a wider range of features and functionality. Details will be announced later in the year.
