Discovery launches QuestOD live streaming service

All EFL Highlights shows for the 2018 season will be available live in HD and catch-up via the player

Discovery has announced the launch of QuestOD, a catch-up and live streaming service for its factual entertainment brands Quest and Quest Red.

Quest content will launch in HD to coincide with the start of the new EFL season. The player features a new design and user interface, while the QuestOD app is available as a smartphone and tablet app for iOS and Android.

Quest announced it had secured the rights to the EFL Highlights in a four-year deal earlier this year. Kicking off with the 2018 season, all EFL Highlights shows will be available live in HD and catch-up on QuestOD from the 4th of August. This includes match highlights hosted by Colin Murray every Saturday night, as well as highlights shows from mid-week fixtures, from the Carabao Cup, and the final of the Checkatrade Trophy.

“Quest continues to go from strength-to-strength with a record-breaking Q1 this year and Quest Red is the fastest growing free-to-air entertainment channel since its launch last year,” said James Gibbons EVP, general manager of UK/Ireland, Australia & New Zealand and head of commercial development for EMEA, Discovery.

“There is a huge appetite for the Quest channels’ content, and we’re delighted to be investing in an on demand service that makes this content available to fans across all platforms. This new player gives fans the freedom to access their favourite content across multiple devices, and what better occasion to go live than with the launch of the EFL Highlights.”

Quest’s linear channel will be launching in HD on Sky, Virgin, and Freesat on the 31st of July. All other customers can access the channel in HD via the QuestOD player and app.
