The BBC has made BBC World News available on a third party subscription streaming service for the first time.
The channel has launched as a 24-hour ad-free service on Hulu Japan in both English and Japanese.
The service is expected to launch on mobile later this year.
“As the world becomes more interconnected and global news events increase in regularity and relevance, we know our audiences want access to the BBC’s world-class impartial news wherever they are — at home or on the move,” said Chris Davies, commercial director for BBC global news.
“This latest deal is part of our strategy to ensure that people can stay up-to-date in more ways than ever.”
