Amazon Web Services has joined forces with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) to launch new football network, Canal 11.
The new channel, which launched on 1st August, will broadcast more than 600 matches per season, including national club cup competitions.
The channel is being produced from the FPF’s studios at the Cidade do Futebol in Lisbon.
Canal 11 is available via telecos MEO, NOS and Vodafone, and can also be accessed online via canal11.pt.
The channel does not include rights from Premeira Liga and the Segunda Divisão Portuguesa, or matches involving the Portuguese national men’s team.
AWS is providing Canal 11 in order to enhance the channel’s streaming services.
“AWS is committed to investing in Portugal and has been supporting customers across the country in their cloud transition process for many years,” said AWS director for Southern Europe Miguel Alava.
