Huawei is planning an 8K 5G TV for release this year, Nikkei has reported.
The report suggests that the set would include a 5G modem, enabling remote streaming without the need for a cable box or fixed-line internet connection.
The 5G connection and 8K display could deliver data-heavy content along with 360-degree videos.
Nikkei added that Huawei might use these 5G TVs to grow its ecosystem of consumer electronics, similar to Samsung’s lineup of TVs, smartphones and smart home devices.
