InSync introduces low-energy dual-channel frame rate converter

The converter consumes less than 70W of power, said InSync, and when compared to other benchmarked converters, broadcasters can expect an 86 per cent reduction in their carbon footprint and energy savings

InSync Technology is launching the MCC-HD-2, which it says offers premium sports quality motion compensated frame rate conversion for two HD streams.

As a 1RU solution, the MCC-HD-2 maintains the image clarity and detail established by its predecessor, the MCC-HD, said the company. It has been developed in collaboration with FOR-A.

The MCC-HD-2 can be deployed by broadcasters operating in space-constrained environments such as  Outside Broadcast (OB) vans and crowded studios and supports SMPTE ST 2110.

The converter consumes less than 70W of power, said InSync, and when compared to other benchmarked converters, broadcasters can expect an 86 per cent reduction in their carbon footprint and energy savings.

James Taylor, CEO of InSync Technology, said: “InSync is ready for the upcoming global sporting events. Our latest product, the MCC-HD-2, is designed to meet the high standards of major broadcasters while reducing environmental and economic impacts. We’re  committed to leading the way in quality, sustainable broadcasting technology.”
