A decision on the Marlow Film Studios proposal has been delayed.
The UK’s Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government has written to interested parties in the Marlow Film Studios’ proposals informing them that the decision date will now be extended to 27th November.
Following a lengthy consultation period which included a number of revisions, proposals for the £3.5 billion studio complex on the site of a former quarry were rejected by Buckinghamshire County Council and the company behind the project appealed to the UK Planning Inspectorate.
A 17-day public inquiry was held in January and a decision had been expected on October 2nd.
The letter, seen by TVBEurope, said further time was required to consider the case, making it impossible to reach a decision by the original date.
The project has previously received support from Oscar-winning director James Cameron, who backed the scheme in a letter to Buckinghamshire Council.
Last month, Lisa Nandy MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Support, said, “I have made clear my view that this is a thoroughly good project, that will bring great economic benefit and opportunities to Marlow. I am really keen to see that progress.”
