TV Skyline installs L-S-B kit in OB van

Broadcast service supplier TV Skyline has used L-S-B’s VSM Broadcast Control and Monitoring System in its new OB 7 HD van.

Broadcast service supplier TV Skyline has used L-S-B’s Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) Broadcast Control and Monitoring System in its new OB 7 HD van. In OB 7 the VSM system software runs on two separate HP servers, with the aim of offering complete failure safety.

Fourteen hardware panels and up to eight GUIs on Lenovo touchpads control operation, and the complete VSM system is 4K and 3G-ready. OB 7 features three separate control rooms and is designed for use in a variety of productions, including the upcoming E-Sports event League of Legends All-Star tournament in Paris.

VSMs SNMP module is capable of monitoring as well as managing third party hardware. VSM controls three Nevion routers (RS-422 remote router, timecode, analogue-video) in OB 7.

OB 7 is can handle up to 22 Ikegami cameras and operates on a 4K/3G/HD/SD Kahuna 360 multiformat switcher. VSM controls the signal-routing of the van’s Snell Sirius 840 hybrid router, Kahuna 360 Multiformat switcher, all camera CCUs, feed and design of 72 Axon Quad multiviewer plus 28 Crystal Vision 3G/HD/SD up/down/cross converters.

Wolfgang Reeh, managing director at TV Skyline, commented: “For us VSM is the best and most sophisticated control and monitoring tool on the market today. With VSM even complex performance requirements can be realised very easily.”
