Thomson Video Networks will be present at CABSAT and TV Connect expos in March. The company, which provides compression systems, is showing the ViBE VS7000 (pictured) and ViBE CP6000 platforms at both exhibitions. The ViBE VS7000 video system is an encoding/transcoding platform for web TV, over-the-top (OTT) services, IPTV, and cable delivery. It combines Thomson’s next-generation compression platform for an all-IP environment with live broadcast-quality encoding, video preprocessing, and faster than realtime file transcoding. Supporting all major formats, including the latest MPEG DASH file standard as well as major codecs such as MPEG transport streams, Adobe Flash, Apple HTTP Live Streaming, and Microsoft Smooth Streaming, and with video resolution up to 1920×1080 in progressive and interlaced modes, the ViBE VS7000 is scalable for input channels and output profiles, with support for multiple output formats per channel. The ViBE CP6000 is a dedicated multi-format platform for contribution of live video. The product has modular implementation of the optimal MPEG-4 contribution codecs and an eight HD channels per 1RU chassis. MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 codecs can be enabled as required with software licensing, and the high-density support simplifies infrastructure and saves energy costs. At CABSAT, Thomson will also demonstrate the new RD6000 contribution receiver decoder, designed for all satellite and telecom contribution networks requiring up to 4:2:2 10-bit, and the ViBE EM Series of MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AVC encoders. CABSAT: A7-30TV Connect: 92
