Small Axe, The Crown lead BAFTA Craft Awards nominees

Nominations announced for both Craft and British Academy TV Awards

The BBC’s Small Axe and Netflix’s The Crown lead the list of nominees for the 2021 British Academy Television Craft Awards.

Small Axe picked up nine nominations including Editing Fiction, Photography and Lighting: Fiction, and Sound: Fiction.

It’s followed by The Crown with six nods, including Special, Visual and Graphic Effects, Sound: Fiction and Director: Fiction.

Normal People and I May Destroy You received four nominations each.

Across both the Craft and British Academy Television Awards, Small Axe leads with 15 nominations, followed by The Crown, I May Destroy You and Normal People.

Life Drawing Live, Springwatch 2020, The Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance and The Third Day: Autumn are all nominated in the Live Event category.

In the Sport category, Sky Sports is nominated twice for its coverage of the Bahrain Grand Prix and England v West Indies test cricket, alongside Amazon’s work on the final of the Autumn Nations Cup, and the BBC’s coverage of the 2020 London Marathon.

The British Academy Television Craft Awards will be streamed on BAFTA’s social channels on Monday 24th May. The Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards ceremony takes place on Sunday 6th June on BBC One.
