SBS implements Mediaproxy logging

SBS Broadcasting in London has installed the Mediaproxy LogServer system for compliance logging and monitoring.

SBS Broadcasting in London has installed the Mediaproxy LogServer system for compliance logging and monitoring. The new system covers all the output of the London playout centre: currently 24 HD and SD channels targeted at six European countries. The Mediaproxy LogServer system captures complete streamed files: not just the audio and video but also the access services and metadata. The architecture allows users to store content for weeks, months or even years on networked Raid storage, while retaining the ability to search and replay any content at any time. For SBS the system will monitor all outputs and ensure it is instantly available for any compliance requests. It is claimed the system will also help maintain accurate broadcast schedules, and ensure advertisers see their campaigns delivered accurately and effectively. “As the number of channels and range of content increases, so too does our commitment to broadcast quality,” said Jacob Mueller, head of transmission and ingest at SBS Broadcasting. “Mediaproxy’s LogServer technology will significantly expand the benefits within our playout centre. This positions us well for future growth in size and facilities. We are delighted to work with Mediaproxy as an innovative company.”
