Luxembourg-based RTL9 is now using Marquis Broadcast’s archive and retrieve solution Project Parking, to archive content at its station. French reseller CTM Solutions will assist the channel in improving the management of its archives.
Ben Miles, business development manager, Marquis, commented: “The solution will now allow RTL9’s team to analyse and manage projects and media on their edit storage. Project Parking will then enable them to prioritise by size, project, location, age and then archive their project files to second tier storage at the touch of a button, schedule snapshots of versions of projects, or move from one location to another, while still maintaining a usable and easily accessible format for future use. Duplicated and orphaned files can be found and deleted, all helping optimise valuable edit storage space.”
Project Parking will also enable the transfer of projects from different locations to tiers of storage, as required. Users can create multiple archive destinations, and after archiving and transferring media offline, selected Projects or Bins can be restored and merged with the original media online. A report is then produced upon completion of an archive.
The solution examines all project files and compiles a list of complete media references. It then looks at all media and matches the project references to that media, allowing the application to complete tasks including the analysis of workspaces and the archive and transfer of projects.
