Ooyala and joiz partner to power social TV channels

Ooyala has partnered with joiz to provide third parties video, interactive and analytics technologies

Ooyala has partnered with joiz to provide third parties video, interactive and analytics technologies. Ooyala is also now powering video and advertising solutions for two social TV channels, joiz Switzerland and joiz Germany, operated by joiz Group.

joiz uses Ooyala’s video and ad tech offerings including video management, delivery, analytics and ad serving capabilities. With this technology, the channels can further build, maintain and monetise audiences with personalised content recommendations and drive higher CPMs across their inventory. joiz Group will put to use the full video and ad tech suite of Ooyala, inclusive of Ooyala IQ, its new analytics platform, Ooyala Discovery for content recommendations and personalisation, and its ad management platform, Ooyala Pulse.

“At Ooyala and joiz, our strategic visions are clearly aligned,” said Alexander Mazzara, co-founder and chief executive officer of joiz Group. “Together, we can offer media companies an array of video, community marketing and analytics technologies, maximising their power to monetize audiences and embrace smart data.”

The partnership provides media companies with a range of complementary services designed to increase viewer engagement, build stronger communities, enhance big data strategies and better monetise audiences. Ooyala’s suite of offerings includes a video platform and ad serving solution. Ooyala aims to help broadcasters, operators, media companies and brands build more engaged and profitable audiences, monetising video and TV with personalised, interactive experiences across any screen.

“joiz is a company that really understands the massive opportunities of advanced video technologies and is actively forging relationships with new partners,” said Rags Gupta (pictured), general manager of EMEA for Ooyala. “We’re ideally placed to join forces and create something truly compelling for broadcasters.”

Based in Switzerland, joiz makes third-party TV experiences more interactive through its joiz Global division, turning viewers into consumers and customers. With its community marketing platform, analytics, gamification capabilities, loyalty programs, e-commerce and social TV capabilities, joiz aims to boost audience retention and ad campaign revenues through its cloud-based solution.
