LegalTV, a BSkyB satellite channel dedicated to legal matters, has gone to air with automation software from On-Air Systems, writes Adrian Pennington.
The ‘K’ series purchased by Legal TV provides all the information, video, audio, graphics, effects and live inputs needed to put together a television schedule, capture and play out the programmes and log all output.
Commenting on the acquisition, Simon Haveland, head of production at Legal TV, said: “It is very important to control our costs in this highly competitive marketplace, and the On-Air system automates the whole ingest-to-playout process and demands very little overseeing. This means we don’t need a big team of technically trained operators to run the channel. The system is simple, reliable, secure and offers sufficient flexibility to let us manage the look and feel of our station. Our experience of the technology has been excellent, and coupled with the forecast cost savings it has given us the perfect technical base to grow our business.”
