Ross Video and Crispin have announced a partnership to implement a full news workflow. The integration brings together Crispin’s NewsCat media asset management system with the OverDrive automated production control and Blackstorm playout servers from Ross. “Having a solution for every customer requirement is impossible to predict,” said Todd Robinson, video server product manager at Ross. “However, having a partner company to rely on to fill in the gaps is key to successful solutions.” For Crispin, COO Rodney Mood added “one of the primary goals of most news operations is to become fully digital. This demands sophisticated technology and tools to manage file-based workflows. The combination of Crispin and Ross technologies delivers that end to end solution news organisations demand.” Crispin’s NewsCat system allows editors, producers and directors the ability to submit content to the Ross Blackstorm playout servers using a copy of the rundown. It creates low resolution proxies of the material on submission, so newsroom users can confirm the video has been successfully submitted and is correctly assigned to the right story where it can be sent live to air with the OverDrive production control.
