Wireless communications specialist Mobile Viewpoint has delivered 12 sets of 3G/4G backpacks to N1 TV, the 24-hour news channel affiliate of CNN in the Balkan region. It has equipped its three offices in Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and plans to expand its coverage in the near future into Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia and other countries in the Adria region.
The channel uses the WMT for its live news reporting from all over the Balkan and has selected Mobile Viewpoint after extensive field-testing.
Mobile Viewpoint’s products combine a robust design for field use with mixed-formats servers installed in N1 TV machine rooms. With Mobile Viewpoint’s IP MCR, the Videomanager platform, live feeds are switched and routed to N1 studios or externally.
“In today’s fast paced media environment the ability to deliver news fast and clearly is more important than ever before. Using WMT and Mobile Viewpoint’s technology enables us to be live from almost every corner of the world”, said Zoran Stevanović, N1 news gathering director.
Michel Bais, managing director of Mobile Viewpoint, added: “The deployment of our equipment across the N1 Balkan regions shows how the WMT enables cost effective all IP news gathering. In combination with MVP’s web based IP MCR, N1 is able to share their WMT systems with other broadcasters and receive feeds from Brussels and other capitals around the world”.
Mobile Viewpoint focuses on the development and implementation of solutions for both the broadcast and security industries. This is based on its H.264 and now H.265 codec implementations, combined with patented technology, allowing for HD video to be transmitted over bonded IP connections.
Launched in 2014 with production centres in Belgrade, Sarajevo and Zagreb, N1 delivers live coverage on cable to a potential audience of over 20 million across the Adria region.
