Transmission service provider Arqiva has installed one of the largest Miranda master control and channel branding systems in Europe at its Media Centre in Buckinghamshire. The installation comprises 35 Imagestore master control switching and channel branding processors plus 10 Imagestore Intuition advanced channel branding co-processors.

The system will enable Arqiva to deliver high impact branding graphics across its channels, and was selected because of its flexibility and high level of control. “The key objective is to give our customers full control over channel branding, with the ability to create their own graphics, simply and effectively, without having to continually rely on graphics specialists,” said Scott Rose, head of Product Development at Arqiva.

“It was also critical that all aspects of the new graphics system could be fully controlled by our automation, with a high level of reliability as many of our customers own television channels that generate revenue directly from on-screen graphics.”

Arqiva has also installed Miranda graphics systems at a separate graphics suite, located in its central London Media Centre. This offers customers a safe, off-line environment for developing and experimenting with on-air graphics, templates, and transitions, as well as ensuring that live data sources can be linked up to the automation process correctly before going live.
