Three Avid S5 Fusion consoles (pictured) and a plethora of Genelec loudspeakers have been supplied by HHB to system integrators TSL, as part of IMG Studios’ relocation project.
The new 107,000-square foot purpose-built production centre boasts 13 production galleries, four sound dubbing suites, five radio stations, five transmission suites, a master control room, and no fewer than 72 edit suites.
Roughly half of the kit installed by TSL was brand new and supplied by HHB: S5s were deployed in the three 5.1 post-production suites; and five Genelec 1238CFMs and a 7271A sub were installed in each room.
IMG Studios will be used for premium sports broadcast production services including England’s Barclays Premier League and Football League, and the UEFA Champions League; in addition, work will also be carried out in the fashion and media industries.
According to TSL’s project manager, Keith Warrender, the choice of equipment was very much a collaborative effort between TSL and IMG: “TSL often quotes Genelecs for TV control rooms because they are industry standard for broadcast audio; and HHB has once again proven that they have the knowledge and experience to provide us with large amounts of equipment without interruption – we are very happy with their service.”
