German OB for World Athletics

KBS Korea produced the daily eight hour live host broadcast for the World Athletics Championships in Daegu using a 16-camera OB truck designed and built by Broadcast Solutions and Wireworx - both of whom are showing new introductions at IBC.

South Korean network KBS (Korean Broadcast System) produced the daily eight hour live host broadcast for the World Athletics Championships in Daegu using a 16-camera OB truck designed and built by German firms Broadcast Solutions and Wireworx.

The HDTV-4 OB truck, which handled the host feed for all the running events, includes a Sony MVS-8000X vision mixer with Sony MVS-6000 for redundancy, seven EVS XT2+ servers with IP Directors and a Riedel intercom system.

The Daegu stadium was ringed with a total of 89 cameras with 33 signals going via HDTV-4. Additional cameras included Antelope hi-speed systems, two cameras on a parallel rail system (for 3D capture), a Polecam and a cablecam.

At IBC, Broadcast Solutions is showing: a ten-camera HD OB Streamline-concept truck (with a simplified workflow) built for Mediatec Switzerland; a new four-channel HD slow-motion server from LGZ Broadcasting; a new antenna systems from ProSat Solutions for satellite transmission on the move, without the need of a bulky radome, along with an easy-to-use FlyAway system and new DSNG antenna systems.

Its partner Wireworx is showing a new rack system, PerfOrack, and a 5.1 audio concept (AudiOworx) for small high-quality surround productions.
