First GV Kayenne in US

The Mobile Television Group has become the first company in the US to use the new Grass Valley Kayenne multiformat Video Production Centre switcher on-air for live sports.

The Mobile Television Group has become the first company in the US to use the new Grass Valley Kayenne multiformat Video Production Centre switcher on-air for live sports.

The company recently installed one of the first Kayenne production models on board its new 53-foot expando “25HDX” HD mobile production truck, which produced its first Major League Baseball game in HD on Monday, July 20.

The new truck, which was built by Denver-based Colorado Studios, also carries 10 Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite HD cameras, which can operate in both 720p and 1080i HD formats.

“We started with Grass Valley 300 switchers, then 3000s, 4000s, Kalypso and Kayak systems, so we’re excited to be part of the launch of the Kayenne,” said Philip Garvin, owner/manager of Mobile TV Group. “Based on our past experience with Grass Valley products, this switcher will provide our clients with an even higher level of performance. We have always relied on Grass Valley production switchers for our mobile trucks because they perform better than any other switcher on the market and our operators are very familiar with how they work. And the Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite HD camera is second to none in terms of image quality.”

With mobile units located in most major markets in the US, the Mobile TV Group helps produce live sports and entertainment events across the country. The company also uses Grass Valley Kalypso and Kayak HD production switchers as well as LDK 6000 and LDK 8000 cameras on board its other trucks.
