CBC Cologne Broadcasting Centre is changing its existing live graphics systems to Vizrt. The transition includes new Viz Trio 3D live graphics systems, Viz Content Pilot template-based graphics system and Viz Virtual Studio systems for live 3D virtual sets.

The new Vizrt graphics technology will be used at CBC’s broadcast and production centre, which features several live studios and extensive post production facilities, in Cologne, Germany, with additional locations in Berlin and Munich. CBC is responsible for the international production and broadcast of Bundesliga, the German soccer league. Part of the Media Group RTL Germany, CBC produces a dozen different TV shows daily. RTL’s brands reach an audience of approximately 90 million viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with both free-to-air and niche digital channels.

Although RTL’s channel n-tv has been using Vizrt realtime graphics technology for many years, it will now be the central system for all CBC’s productions.

“By centralising graphics templates and production for all our networks and productions CBC expects to realise significant efficiencies. We are well acquainted with the quality and reliability of Vizrt systems because n-tv has enjoyed successful experiences with Vizrt,” said Andreas Fleuter, head of Production, CBC.
