11 major global broadcasters have selected TeliaSonera International Carrier to provide support during the London 2012 Olympics. Broadcasters Deutsche Welle, Korea Broadcast Services, Tokyo Broadcast Systems, Bandsports, EBU, YLE, NRK, Aldea, KEF and Televisa have all selected TeliaSonera International Carrier’s Media Connect Occasional Use service. The service is used to store and transport digital media content as well as distributing it live and in realtime. Offering international video contribution and distribution over the company’s robust global fibre network infrastructure, it enables broadcasters to ensure the safe delivery of their Olympic content. The Media Connect Occasional Use Service transports professional media content over TeliaSonera International Carrier’s media network based on its international fibre network, which spans 22 countries on three continents. The media network covers all of Europe’s major media hubs as well as the US, Hong Kong and Singapore.
