AEQ presents new solutions at 2023 IBC Show

AEQ is once again at IBC to present its solutions: AoIP DANTE, Intercom, Multiconferencing, audio transport and reportage.

For Intercom systems Crossnet up to 190 ports and Conexia up to 1000 ports.

After the success achieved at NAB, AEQ presents again at IBC the new AEQ TP9116 intercom user terminals with 16 4-way lever keys, with two functions per lever, in addition to individual-level regulation in the key itself.

“Talk and Listen” functions and individual volume control for each communication point, via a 4-way lever key. 16 cross-stitch keys, four pages, manage up to 64 destinations or groups. The information is presented on four RGB graphic displays.  With audio quality for Broadcast. Format of a rack unit.

Designed for the high level of audio quality for broadcast of the Conexia and CrossNET matrixes

IP connectivity that handles audio in DANTE or AES67 format and low bit rate voice. Cancellation of the acoustic echo, automatic leveling of the voice power or tonality and speech habits of each operator. Acustica carefully studied to achieve the best intelligibility and naturalness of sound.

DSP functions for perfect communication

The integrated processor features:

  • Echo acoustic canceller to avoid local feedback and possible return.
  • 3-band parametric equalization and high-pass and low-pass filters, to adjust brightness and choose the best compromise between voice naturalness and intelligibility.
  • Dynamics Adjustment: Compression, limitation and expansion, to allow a wide range of distances and angles to the microphone.
  • Noise door, to eliminate or minimize ambient noise from the room, soundproofing the user panel and creating the best listening environment for communication.
  • Incorporates internal TEST audio signal generators (tone 1Khz @ -20dBFs, pink noise @ -20dBFs).
  • It has a replay function that allows you to play the last 16 seconds of audio emitted by the speaker / headset.

The audio process is adjusted in the configuration application, being able, in addition to using the profiles supplied by default, to modify or create them to measure, and apply them in different type or particularised environments.

Local connectivity analogue, digital and AoIP Dante

AEQ also presents for the first time in NAB VENUS 4 and VENUS 4 +stationary double IP audiocodecs, which correspond to the 4th generation of Phoenix Venus audiocodecs.

This new audiocodec for point-to-point links, or point-to-multipoint, stands out for having IP connectivity and two simultaneous bidirectional stereo transmissions with different formats and qualities. It also has SIP protocol and NB/ACIP standard of the EBU, as well as OPUS algorithms, configuration aid tools and remote control.

Carrier grade for reliable communications

Venus 4 goes on the market with two hardware versions: one with front control panel and another more basic, with status indicators of networks and communications. Both versions have analogue inputs and outputs balanced by XLR connectors and dedicated connectors for AES/EBU digital I/O. Triple network port, dual RS232 data auxiliary link. Available versions with redundant power supply, 48 volt DC supplies and local audio inputs and outputs by IP DANTE / AES 67.

Control via the Control Phoenix app

There is a friendly graphic window for configuration and another operation window that allows us to work with it as if we were facing a front control panel, choosing coding modes, connection modes and establishing or ending calls.

Both the configuration and basic operation functions are presented in an accessible and intuitive way.

XPEAK is an intercom system developed on absolutely new concepts, which covers a wide range of needs in a cost-effective way and flexible and simple configuration.

It supports up to 28 user terminals in a variety of form factors: desktop, rack, wired beltpack, wireless beltpack, and PC applications, which can be connected to each other with the greatest operational flexibility and without the need for an array.

Its wired user terminals have Bluetooth and USB connections, admitting all kinds of headsets with this connectivity and facilitating connection with smartphones and PCs.

The stationary terminals have 8 4-way lever keys, with two functions per lever, in addition to individual level regulation on the key itself. The beltpacks have 4 keys.  Independently of the XPEAK system, these devices can workas user terminals in large systems with AEQ Conexia and Crossnet matrix.

The system is complemented by the XPEAK_IF interface, which provides analog, digital USB and AoIP AES67/Dante inputs and outputs Ease of configuration, adaptability and tight price

Now: Automatic remote connection available

In addition, now the connection is simple even if the equipment is in different locations, simply by giving them access to the internet.   Activating for a network of XPEAK terminals the option of remote connection, each terminal automatically communicates with a service installed in the cloud, which puts it in contact with the other terminals of the network, opening communication channels with them. Automatic remote connection can also be used, integrating the terminals into a VLAN.

This makes it easier to set up the coordination of remote productions.

ATRIUM is a digital audio mixer specially designed for production and broadcast of audio on radio and television, in work environments with higher operational requirements.

It handles up to 1000 channels of local or IP audio, controllable through one or several surfaces, each with up to more than 90 motorized and pageable faders.

It presents great simplicity of operation through a powerful set of touch screens, encoders, indicators and keys, which are pre-configured according to the needs, and that dynamically adapt their function to the context, avoiding unnecessary steps, and always keeping the precise information in sight, so that the operation is simple and safe.

It includes the advantages that technology puts at our disposal at the moment: The new X_CORE engine  that incorporates ATRIUM, can be shared securely between up to 6 consoles, since it carries tools to develop redundancy capacity at all levels.  It accepts and delivers audio in the most varied formats used today in audio and television production.

It also allows the transport of inputs and outputs and control through the different equipment of a system, such as routers, audiocodecs, broadcast telephony systems, broadcast automation, or intercom systems: In particular,  it has absolute control over the NETBOX4 MH and STUDIOBOX headset microphone and studio signaling interfacesthat located in the studios make the facilities more flexible.

Each ATRIUM control surface can be absolutely particularized. Thus, classic ways of working can be implemented, for example: each channel with motorized fader can have A/B configuration, or create up to 8 channel pages. Each channel can have direct access to pre-defined bus shipments, or define channels for bidirectional multiplex so that each user has the mix of everyone but him. Or handle multichannel groupings like 5.1. You can also configure mixed or very special ways of working with flexible programming of channels and keys to act on the routing of the console, or arrange several control stations on the same console, to facilitate the work of the presenter or producer.

In addition, it has memories for storage and instant retrieval of scenes, and processes. The automation of the mixture with the autogain and automix functions avoids the need for intensive and precise handling of the faders.  It incorporates an extensive set of audio processing functions. On the other hand, there is a virtual console application on PC for remote control and facilitate maintenance.

All this configures a mixing and audio processing system that allows to develop very complex works with great precision and quality both in production and radio and television broadcast.

Now: ATRIUM can include XC24 V3 and XC34 V3 cards for fibre optic connections

The new XC24 V3 card incorporates 64 redundant ports of IP audio in DANTE / AES67 formats, and through Dante Domain Manager, also SMPTE 2110-30. The novelty of this card is that in addition to the 1000base T Ethernet connectivity, it incorporates cages for SFP cartridges, which can be equipped with different fibre optic transceivers with a range of more than 100 km, depending on type.

The new XC34 V3 card incorporates 128 redundant IP audio ports in RAVENNA / AES67 formats, and also SMPTE 2110-30 and SMPTE 2110-31, with NMOS control. The novelty of this card is that in addition to the 1000base T Ethernet connectivity, it incorporates cages for SFP cartridges, which can be equipped with different fibre optic transceivers with a range of more than 100 km, depending on type.
