Formula E turbocharges cloud production with Techex and Google Cloud

The cloud-based environment aims to streamline delivery of secure live video feeds from race circuits to partners across the globe

Aiming to meet Formula E’s requirements for a scalable, secure and flexible cloud infrastructure, live broadcast software and solutions provider Techex has collaborated with Google Cloud to deliver low-latency live video feeds to the championship’s production partners around the world.

Providing the live IP transport layer across Formula E’s media workflows, Techex’s tx edge software enables the ingestion of secure camera and programme feeds into the organisation’s media asset management platform and secure delivery to global partners.

Available through Google Cloud Marketplace, the tx edge platform was deployed in just a few weeks, integrating into Formula E’s vendor-agnostic environment.

Justin Grayston, head of customer engineering for UK/I media and entertainment at Google Cloud, commented, “The media industry is undergoing a rapid transformation, and cloud-based solutions are essential for driving innovation. Our collaboration with Techex allows organisations such as Formula E to leverage Google Cloud’s AI, machine learning, data analytics and edge capabilities, enabling organisations to create richer, more personalised experiences for their fans and future-proof their operations.”
