Following the launch of cloud-first eco-system earlier this year, Banijay has selected Moments Lab to enable indexing, discovery and repurposing of its archive, as well as reformatting distribution for its live productions.
Trained on 1.5 billion data points, Moments Lab’s MXT-2 AI model is designed for large libraries of long, short-form and live content with features such as Custom Moments providing time-coded descriptions of key moments. The solution aims to allow Banijay to easily produce viral shorts, trailers and compilations. Its new Discovery Agent provides users with natural language prompt capability, streamlining the search process.
Operating via facial recognition, landmark and landscape, context and sentiment analysis, Moments Lab’s solution analyses every moment of a content asset, enabling the entire portfolio to be searched with customisable, open-source metadata and descriptions at-scale. Additionally, the platform provides multilingual transcription and translation, meeting demand from audiences around the world.

Damien Viel, chief digital and innovation officer, Banijay Entertainment, said, “As Europe’s largest studio and home to the superbrand, creativity and innovation have always underpinned Banijay Entertainment’s activities. With our complementary digital transformation now well underway—from building a cutting-edge content hub with base and AWS to partnering with Moments Lab—we remain focused on collaborating with first-class technology providers who can support us in broadening the reach of our content and maximising its value in what is a hugely complex global ecosystem.”
Philippe Petitpont, co-founder and CEO of Moments Lab added, “It was clear from the beginning that Banijay Entertainment shares our pioneering mindset and bold vision for how AI indexing can unlock new creative possibilities and revenue opportunities. We’re honoured to partner with the business on such an important endeavour – helping maximise the value of its impressive catalogue of original programming.”
With integration managed by base, Moments Lab will sync across Banijay’s existing digital asset management system, providing the company with increased capabilities for new distribution channels, increasing its reach and monetisation opportunities across digital platform.
