After first announcing plans for a “video-first platform” earlier this year, X (aka Twitter) has officially launched a new TV app dedicated to video.
The new app is available in beta via Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and LG TVs.
After logging into the X account, users can browse videos uploaded to the social media platform, as well as access livestreams.
“Paired with our upcoming Video Tab, this marks a massive leap forward in transforming X into a video-first platform and unlocking new opportunities for creators, advertisers, and our partners,” said the company.
X released an early version of the application for some users in October last year to test video and audio calling in a bid to turn the “super app” into offering messaging and online payment features.
