Netflix confirms plans for first live sport event

The Netflix Cup is set to stream live from 11pm GMT / 3pm PT / 6pm ET on Tuesday, November 14th

Netflix is entering the world of live sport next month, with a special golf event featuring stars from both its Drive to Survive Formula 1 series and golfers from Full Swing.

The Netflix Cup is set to stream live from 11pm GMT / 3pm PT / 6pm ET on Tuesday, November 14th.

Speaking about the event, Gabe Spitzer, vice president, nonfiction sports, Netflix, said: “We love to see how our sports series have brought increased fandom to sports leagues and competitions all over the world. The Netflix Cup will take that energy to the next level with global stars from two popular hits competing in our first-ever live sports event.”

The Netflix Cup, is sanctioned by the PGA TOUR and Formula 1 and will be produced by Excel Sports Management, BZ Entertainment, and Full Day Productions.

It takes place in the run-up to inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix on 19th November.
