Blue skies ahead for Blue Ant Media and Blue Lucy

BLAM enables automated content preparation and delivery, allowing Blue Ant to streamline its supply chain workflows

Blue Lucy has announced Blue Ant Media has chosen its BLAM platform.

Following a discovery process and proof of concept in collaboration with independent consultants, Chromata Solutions, global production studio, rights business and channel operator Blue Ant Media has selected the Blue Lucy solution for media supply chain automation.

Running in a hybrid deployment model, BLAM aims to enable Blue Ant Media to identify and implement workflow automation solutions. Core database and services are provided by Blue Lucy as a managed service but a number of BLAM Workflow Runner engines are deployed on-premise, managing local resources for editing and the exisiting XenData-supported LTO library, said the company. Content is globally accessible via cloud storage.

Integrated across Blue Ant’s existing technoogy stack, which includes Signiant Media Shuttle, Telestream Vantage and VidChecker and Adobe Premiere Pro, BLAM facilitates automated content delivery with assets transcoded and delivered to the client without user intervention. Where manual processes such as edits, reviews and approvals are necessary, BLAM automatically creates work orders, makes content available in the appropriate tools and informs relevant team members.

Vlad Storchak, VP of technology at Blue Ant Media, said: “BLAM is an incredibly sophisticated product that, we believe, represents the future of MAM software.

“It’s an extensive platform but the various capabilities can be rolled out incrementally, so we don’t have to scope the entire use-case out from the outset. Instead, we can deploy critical workflows quickly and start realising business value while we plan our next steps. We also enjoyed working with the Blue Lucy team – the combination of their support and the fact that our team will be empowered to create workflows independently provides the flexibility we need to respond to changing market needs.”
