BBC News Channel launches on YouTube in UK and USA

The trial begins on October 15th, is part of the BBC's wider YouTube strategy to reach new and younger audiences where they are, said the corporation

The BBC has announced its News Channel will stream live on YouTube in the UK and USA.

As part of its wider YouTube strategy to extend audience reach, the corporation will make the BBC News Channel available to stream live on the platform in a trial marking what it said was a “significant step in expanding access to trusted, impartial journalism.”

The UK and USA join a growing list of countries where the channel is available on YouTube, including Australia, Kenya, Nigeria, and Poland, said the broadcaster.

Anjali Kapoor, director, AI, innovation and growth for BBC News said, “Audiences increasingly expect news to be available wherever they are, on the platforms they use throughout their day. Launching the BBC News channel on YouTube in the UK and US is an important step in bringing our trusted journalism to even more people. It will make it easier for audiences to access live coverage of the stories shaping our world, while helping us reach new audiences in the places and at the times that work best for them.”
