4acrew has introduced its Rockycam system alongside a Sony FX30 camera and anamorphic lens at UEFA Euro 2024.
The company launched its Rockycam system for a live Sky Sports broadcast of the match between Italy and Albania.
Rockycam supports the Sony FX30 camera, which was fitted with a lightweight anamorphic zoom lens modified specifically for the event.
A Laowa anamorphic adaptor was modified by 4acrew with a vintage Tokina 28-85 F.4 lens, which, said the company, is the only possible combination of weight and size that can be mounted on its handheld gimbal.
The setup used a Crane 4 Zhiyun gimbal with an alternative setup employing the DJI Ronin RS4 Pro. Control was maintained via Tilta and Sony’s active handles (FS5-FS7) with remote camera control managed via LTE by Cyanview RCP from the Cinevideo OB truck.
HD RF signals were transmitted using Plus link from Smilink. Power management utilised Blueshape batteries equipped with a Quick Changer, aimed at ensuring continuous operation was maintained.
