ITV Daytime ‘to move to Covent Garden’

The broadcaster is reportedly planning to move production on Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women to the basement of The Hospital

ITV Daytime is reportedly moving its production to The Hospital in London’s Covent Garden.

The Sun reports production on Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will move away from BBC Studioworks’ Television Centre as ITV looks to cut costs.

It suggests the three shows will be filmed in the basement of The Hospital, which closed its doors in 2020 due to the pandemic.

ITV has not officially commented on the report.

Last month, the broadcaster announced changes to the scheduling and production of its Daytime shows, revealing that Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women would be broadcast from “a new location in central London”. GMB will move its base to ITN on Gray’s Inn Road.

ITV moved its Daytime shows from its former building on the South Bank to Television Centre in 2018.

Good Morning Britain and This Morning currently share TVC’s Studio TC3, with their sets sitting back-to-back across the 8,000 sq. ft. studio floor. Lorraine and Loose Women both reside in the adjacent 3,430 sq. ft. Studio TC2, with a daily turnaround between the sets as soon as Lorraine comes off-air.
