Beijing 2022’s Main Media Centre opens its doors

The MMC incorporates both the Main Press Centre (MPC) and the International Broadcast Centre (IBC)

The Main Media Centre for this year’s Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 has officially opened its doors to visiting broadcasters ahead of the event next month.

The 98,000-square-metre facility will welcome media from across the world who will report on all of the action from this year’s Games, which begin on 4th February.

The MMC incorporates both the Main Press Centre (MPC) and the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) and is located in the newly built pavilion of the China National Convention Centre on Beijing’s Olympic Green.

The venue will be the main hub for press conferences, media work areas and the photo service centre, and will serve as the headquarters for the main international news organisations. It can accommodate around 2,800 accredited press from around the globe.

The IBC will serve as the main hub for Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) and Rights-Holding Broadcasters (RHBs). It is expected to welcome thousands of broadcast personnel during the Games.

The Olympic Winter Games take place between 4-20th February, and the Paralympic Winter Games will be held from 4th until 13th March 2022.
