Open Broadcast Systems has announced Icelandic telecoms and media group, Sýn, has deployed its solutions for low-latency transport of broadcast feeds over IP.
Building on a decade-long relationship between the companies, Sýn selected a range of Open Broadcast Systems’ encoders and decoders, including compact multichannel units for field contribution and larger units for its master control room.
Flexibility was a key driver in the choice, said Open Broadcast Systems, with a range of form factors enabling Sýn to transport feeds across Iceland with consistent high quality and low latency, meeting the needs of different operational environments.
Commenting, Árni Finnsson, senior engineer at Sýn’s broadcast tech department, said, “Iceland presents unique operational challenges.
