Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced an upgrade to Elemental MediaConnect Gateway.
The live video transport service now supports source-specific multicast (SSM), enabling users to specify both a multicast group address and an optional source IP address when creating or updating MediaConnect Gateway bridge sources.
The feature aims to enhance flexibility, security and efficiency in workflows, allowing content to be pulled from specific senders while filtering out unwanted traffic, said the company.
Bandwidth use is optimised as network switches only replicate data when needed. Content is only received from trusted sources via named IP addresses, improving security, added AWS.
