A 4K version of the XT3 production server will be unveiled by EVS Sports at IBC. As well as enabling instant delivery of multicam footage to second screens and live slow motion in Ultra HD resolution, the company claims the enhanced server offers greater flexibility and advanced HD workflows.
EVS Entertainment will present improved multicam streaming capabilities (up to 12 HD streams per server) for the XS media server, as well as Nano Air, a new zero-configuration controller for all EVS production servers deployed in TV studio and on-stage entertainment productions. Also on display will be the IPLink plugin panel for advanced integration with the new Adobe Premiere Pro.
A new media workflow engine for high-speed news file ingest, editing and multiplatform delivery on show from EVS News will enable content gathering from multiple sources, including smart devices and social media. Media is instantly available for editing and playout, while a web interface provides web services with SOA for third-party integration. Also new will be a SD/HD auto sensing feature for the XS server, enabling automatic HD up-conversion during ingest and further reducing media processing operations.
EVS Media will demo OpenCubeHD encoding and decoding of IMF and DCP J2K lossless files, claiming more than three times faster than realtime performance. Also on display will be the closed captioning and subtitle management part of the OpenCube MXF file encoding and management suite, as well as updates to the MediaArchiveDirector for sport legacy archive management.
