Enco dials up virtualised radio automation for IBC

Enco is showcasing a fault-tolerant virtualised system with a unique specification for radio automation environments.

The company said the ENCO1 product can replace many disparate workstations and servers across a facility, leveraging IP audio technologies to operate virtualised Enco DAD automation systems. As the system is virtualised, any station or studio can be controlled from any location via a thin client. In addition to providing agility, the use of a thin client versus hardware-based workstations both increases life span and reduces long-term saving costs, said the company.

Operating through a static remote desktop application at user locations, ENCO1 centralises RAM and increases in processing power within the ENCO1 server core to ensure long-term reliability and performance.

Back-end command cuts and logical features enable distribution of GPIO, UDP, serial and other commands between all machines over the same networked architecture. Playlists commands can additionally be managed within a defined time structure, ensuring automated loading of content and automated routing of switching of and logic commands over IP.
