Live video-over-IP company Zixi has added Librestream president John Bishop to its board of directors.
With over 20 years of experience, Bishop is recognised as an early pioneer of video streaming, having worked at Akamai, Cisco Systems and Inlet Technologies, which he co-founded.
Bishop has also served on the Technology and Engineering Achievement Committee of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and has spoken at key industry events such as NAB and IBC.
“Zixi has developed the most disruptive technologies to impact the media market since the transition to digital, tools that are completely relied on and trusted by the most important organisations in the industry for mission critical applications,” said Bishop. “The technology aligns with both traditional distribution and OTT distribution models providing efficiencies and scale to both.”
Zixi executive chairman Gordon Brooks added: “John brings a tremendous amount of product and corporate strategy knowledge in the video market to Zixi, at a time when we are seeing exceptional growth and adoption across all of our product lines. We are excited to have his vision and leadership within the board, which will greatly help our team and our customers.”
