Ateliere shareholders elect new board of directors

The company's shareholders had called for a change in the board, stating they had been "patient and cooperative" with the previous board in the hope they would "stabilise the company and rebuild trust"

Shareholders of the troubled Ateliere Creative Services have elected a new board of directors, which the company describes as the “beginning of an exciting new chapter, focused on transparency, innovation and growth.

The company’s shareholders had called for a change in the board, stating they had been “patient and cooperative” with the previous board in the hope they would “stabilise the company and rebuild trust”.

At the end of October, an email seen by TVBEurope was sent to all current shareholders, calling on them to remove most of the board and expand its size from five to seven members. The email also called for the establishment of an advisory board of up to 12 non-voting members to provide strategic guidance.

Ateliere has since announced that a new board of directors has been duly constituted and elected in accordance with a shareholder vote representing 56 per cent of its voting shares.

Without revealing details of the new board, the company said it is already “hard at work to strengthen our foundation, enhance operational efficiency, and position the company for long-term success in a rapidly changing media and technology landscape”.

The removal of the board is the latest chapter in the story of Ateliere Creative Technologies, which began with the defunct attempt to acquire Codemill earlier this year. The company then changed its mind, which led to the ousting of CEO Dan Goman. However, according to Ateliere’s website, Goman has returned to the company as principal business and technology advisor, with Mitchell Berman now serving as interim CEO.
