WCPMedia joins DPP

Cloud-based media management company becomes latest to join Digital Production Partnership

Cloud-based media management company WCPMedia Services has become the latest to join the Digital Production Partnership (DPP).

WCPMedia said it is lending its support to the DPP’s mission to encourage the development of a fully digital, global and internet-enabled supply chain for broadcast media.

“Through the efforts of the DPP, the United Kingdom became the first country in the world to adopt nationwide specifications and common practices for digital delivery to broadcasters,” said WCPMedia Services VP of operations, Giovanni Contri.

“Common standards and specifications are essential to maximising the efficiency of broadcaster internal workflows and the productivity of each player along the distribution supply chain. The level of global media content production and exchange is increasing every day and standardisation is the only way to increase efficiency while preserving high quality.

“The DPP’s approach is fully in line with the WCPMedia founding vision of offering a common approach to managing and exchanging media content.”

Mark Harrison, DPP MD, added: “We’re delighted to welcome WCPMedia Services into the Digital Production Partnership. Their valuable experience in cloud production and delivery will add huge value to our work delivering the new IMF for broadcast and online specification. We look forward to working with the team over the coming months.”

WCPMedia provides a platform-as-a-service media management solution that covers the supply chain, from production through delivery. It integrates market tools for asset management, transcoding, QC, file sharing, screening and delivery.
