Tributes have been paid to TAG Video’s Peter Wharton who has passed away after a short illness.
Wharton joined TAG in October 2020 as director, corporate strategy. Prior to that, he was an active member of SMPTE, serving as both secretary/treasurer and vice president of membership.
His career also included stints at Grass Valley and ABC News and Fox News.
Paul Briscoe, chief architect at TAG, paid tribute to Wharton on LinkedIn, describing his colleague as “an amazing friend, generous, thoughtful and kind with a huge heart,” adding that Wharton has left “a big mark on me, on the industry and on everyone he knew.
“It’s this legacy that we carry with us, and I will forever use the ‘what would Peter do’ test to better understand things.”
