To celebrate International Women’s Day 2026, TVBEurope asked our readers to submit women in the media technology industry who embody this year’s theme of ‘Give to Gain’.
This IWD, we are proud to highlight the women who encourage collaboration and a mindset of generosity within our industry.
Amanda Dixon, submitted by Simone Lee
Joining MRMC in early 2025 as a newcomer to the broadcast and motion control industry, I found the technical, male-dominated landscape initially intimidating.
Despite her demanding workload as deputy head of marketing, Amanda immediately became my approachable mentor. Drawing on her two decades of expertise, she is able to break down complex jargon into simpler terminology, helping me to learn faster. Her willingness to invest time in my growth exemplifies ‘giving’ to ensure others ‘gain’. Amanda is deeply respected across the business, and her instrumental support has transformed my journey. I truly aspire to match her knowledge and leadership one day.
Andreanne Tremblay, submitted by Caitlin Lancit
Andreanne Tremblay embodies ‘Give to Gain’ in everything she does. From the moment I joined Ross Video, she modelled integrity, curiosity, and heart. She works tirelessly, cares deeply about her products, and brings light into every room she enters. As a trainer, she connected naturally with her trainees, building both technical skill and confidence.
I have watched her grow into an exceptional product specialist, investing in others without hesitation. Her generosity, high standards, and genuine care for people have influenced my own leadership style and helped shape the culture around her for the better.
Caroline Cardozo, submitted by Niki Whittle
Caz has an ambitious vision that I deeply respect. She consistently appreciates the talent in her team and shows her support, always finding time in her busy schedule to soundboard ideas and strategies.
Women often get hired for leadership roles based on proved experience rather than potential, which limits the opportunity for them to grow if they don’t get the chance to build that evidence. Caz hired me based on my potential and skills, rather than dismissing me for not being a traditional product manager on paper—in fact, she convinced me to step into my role. As a leader, she is breaking that stigma, encouraging women to believe in themselves and creating opportunities for them to shine.
Carrie Wootten, submitted by Molly Cole
Carrie genuinely lives the idea of ‘Give to Gain’. She doesn’t just talk about supporting the next generation, she actively hands over responsibility, trusts people early, and backs them properly. While working with her on On Air, she has encouraged me to lead on PR and socials and shape the role in my own way. She listened to my ideas, took them seriously, and gave me the confidence to run with them. That belief makes a huge difference early in your career.
Carrie creates opportunities and makes you feel capable of more than you thought you were. That generosity strengthens the whole industry and is the reason why her initiatives have so many fab volunteers readily involved and giving up their free time to support.
Julie Mulvihill, submitted by Andreanne Tremblay
When I entered the broadcast world, I was surrounded mostly by men, but women like Julie stood out as true inspirations. If you’ve ever used a Ross Vision mixer, the iconic “Julie Pink” colour scheme exists because of her, which says a lot about her aura at Ross!
Julie is a technical powerhouse who embraced bold colours, loud laughter, and her authentic self. She not only impressed me with her expertise but also encouraged me to believe in my own. She helped me revise my CV, gave me invaluable advice, and the confidence to apply for a trainer role at Ross, a decision that changed my life 10 years ago.
I will always be grateful for her support, kindness, and example.
Lucy Meek, submitted by Saleha Williams
This International Women’s Day, IABM celebrates CFOO Lucy Meek’s 20-year milestone with the global mediatech member organisation.
CEO Saleha Williams shares: “To know Lucy is to respect her; to work with her is to be inspired by her. A vital pillar of industry knowledge and innovation, she is the rock of IABM, supporting and inspiring not only the IABM team, but the hundreds of members across the globe.” Lucy, we thank you for 20 years, here’s to all the exciting things ahead!”
Maria Hellström, submitted by Larissa Görner-Meeus
Maria Hellström, today CEO of Codemill has been by my side as a colleague, mentor and friend for more than a decade, supporting me from the very beginning and continuing to inspire me every step of the way. She has a rare ability to look at complex challenges from unexpected angles, always offering thoughtful, structured guidance and a fresh perspective when it matters most.
Over the years, she has helped me see my own value more clearly, supported me through difficult situations, and challenged me to grow—whether in people leadership, financial understanding, or navigating the often-unspoken political dynamics within organisations. Maria leads with both strength and vulnerability, combining sharp strategic thinking with genuine care for others.
What makes her even more remarkable is her humility. She never seeks the spotlight for herself, yet constantly creates it for others—lifting people up, opening doors, and ensuring those around her are seen, heard, and valued.
She is a stellar, highly structured leader, a natural force, and an unwavering advocate for those around her. Her generosity, honesty, and constant willingness to give make her the true embodiment of ‘Give to Gain’. I am deeply grateful for her guidance, her belief in me, and the example she sets every single day.
Meriam Khan, submitted by Monica Heck
I worked with Meriam and her team for close to a decade as a freelance writer. During that time, I provided client editorial services, but also took maternity breaks, acquired a bunch of health issues and undertook two moves, one of them international. A very challenging and risky personal time for a freelancer, that might have sent less astute clients running for the hills. But not Meriam.
By nurturing a fair, honest, and inclusive atmosphere in all our dealings, she allowed me the space to deliver to the same high standards no matter what the circumstances, so I never had to worry about losing a much loved client. Throughout it all, Meriam always supported me as a valuable member of her team and that, to me, is the definition of ‘Give to Gain’. She rose, and took me with her.
Noreen Connolly, submitted by Dan Mark
Noreen has always been a leader who has built her career through grit and curiosity. Despite not following a traditional path, she’s proved that resilience and a willingness to learn are powerful drivers of success. Noreen has taken these to new levels when she joined XR Extreme Reach, and she has channelled these qualities by always making time to champion, coach, and empower others.
Her impact on XR in such a short time has been felt by everyone across the company. She has even made me a stronger leader because of her insight and encouragement. Whether she’s solving project challenges or lifting someone’s confidence, Noreen invests in people and embodies the spirit of International Women’s Day.
Sadie Groom, submitted by Louise Wells
Since I joined Bubble almost a decade ago, Sadie has given so much to my career and personal development. She truly embodies ‘Give to Gain’, investing time, trust and belief in the people around her so they can flourish. She backs ideas, encourages autonomy, and generously recognises hard work, passion and commitment to our industries.
Because of her leadership, I have grown in confidence, ambition and capability. Sadie does not simply build a successful business; she builds people. Her ability to give selflessly, while elevating everyone around her, is what makes her such an exceptional leader.
Thalia Crone, submitted by Amelia Lodwick
For me, Thalia truly embodies ‘Give to Gain.’ Throughout our Rise Mentoring journey together, she has given countless hours, wisdom and unwavering belief in me without ever expecting anything in return. Her mentorship goes far beyond professional advice, she empowers and guides in a way that creates real growth. Thalia’s leadership is rooted in generosity, she creates space for honest conversation, listens deeply and has a rare ability to unlock potential in the people around her.
From Rise mentor to DPP speaker and the most natural panel moderator, she leads with authenticity and because she gives so selflessly, those around her leave better than they arrived. Thalia is an exceptional mentor and an inspiring leader within our industry.
