Assimilate, provider of post production tools for digital workflows, has expanded its team by appointing Steve Bannerman (pictured) as vice president of marketing and Miguel Ferros as director of product management. Bannerman brings nearly 30 years of sales and marketing experience at the likes of Apple, GenArts and Tarantella. Ferros has held product management and marketing roles at Avid, Codex Digital, and 5D Solutions.
Paddy Taylor has joined Autocue in the newly-created position of sales manager for newsroom, scripting and video servers. He will formally establish Autocue’s video server business and build on recent newsroom successes at Roger’s Network in Canada, Ghana Broadcast Corporation and several media universities in the UK. Autocue Business Development Director Richard Satchell said, “We have received such positive feedback since the launch of our video server business at IBC 2010 that it became clear that we needed to invest.”
As part of a series of changes designed to consolidate HHB’s position as a leading European supplier of broadcast audio technology, Martin O’Donnell has been promoted to director of sales. A key member of the HHB team for more than 22 years, O’Donnell will continue to report to Steve Angel who moves up to group sales director — a new position with responsibilities for the sales performance of HHB, its Soho-based subsidiary Scrub and its distribution division Source. The move leads to a further reshuffle of the HHB sales team. Key among the changes is Nikki Kalsi, promoted to manager, broadcast & SI sales. Greg Wheeler becomes manager, professional audio sales, encompassing a wider brief for sales in the broadcast and computer game sectors with Avid Pro Tools and file-based systems. Matthew Fletcher continues as international sales manager, with additional responsibilities for UK market development of HHB distributed brands, while Andrew Hingley‘s role as education sales manager is expanded to encompass product management responsibilities for digital consoles, audio over IP and MADI.
Digital media systems integrator ioko has expanded its team with three senior hires to its User Experience division, iokointeractive. The company brings on board Leigh Brett as creative director, Chris Gannon as art director, and Miles Davies as user experience architect.
Following the retirement of Claude Burton in September 2010, Lee Shuttlewood, formerly of HHB, has taken over the role of professional sound sales – south for Sennheiser UK. A key part of his remit is to liaise directly with broadcasters, systems integrators and broadcast hire companies to assist them in the switchover from Channel 69 (854-862 MHz) to Channel 38 (606-614 MHz), which comes into force during 2012.
TSL has appointed Ian Collinson as systems sales manager with responsibility for developing Systems Integration business opportunities and managing key customer accounts. He has worked with a range of broadcast and IP-based technologies, and was recently based in South Africa with Sony developing opportunities for the World Cup. TSL Managing Director David Phillips said, “Ian brings to TSL a strong engineering and account management background. His skill set strengthens our ability to pursue a wide range of business opportunities both in the UK and internationally.”
