Former Arena Television executives to go on trial in France

Robert Hopkinson and Richard Yeowart have been charged with money laundering and using false documents

Two directors of collapsed outside broadcasting company Arena Television will go trial for fraud in France tomorrow (June 7th).

Robert Hopkinson and Richard Yeowart have been charged with money laundering and using false documents, reports Agence France Presse.

They are suspected of defrauding around 50 lenders, of around £250 million.

Hopkinson was found last year by French police following a tip-off from a local shopkeeper, said the AFP report, It adds that authorities seized gold bullion, cash, two cars and two homes used by the men.

Yeowart has still not been found but will be tried in absentia.

Both men face a maximum of 10 years in prison.
