Viacom’s Comedy Central will launch in the Middle East and North Africa on pay-TV channel OSN in May.
Financial details of the arrangement, which will see Comedy Central available exclusively on OSN, have not been disclosed.
It is the third Viacom brand to debut in the region following the arrival of MTV and Nickelodeon.
Comedy Central, which now has a presence in over 120 countries, will bring content such as The Daily Show With Trevor Noah, Lip Sync Battle and South Park to the MENA region.
Raffaele Annecchino, executive VP and managing director of VIMN South Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, “We are thrilled to work with OSN to further expand our distribution footprint in MENA and bring Comedy Central to the region.
“We are committed, as in all of our regions, to growing the local comedy scene and investing in local productions, and we will be focusing our energies on this from the first year.”
