Cello resurrects Ferguson brand

New LED TVs to be made in the UK

TV manufacturer Cello has announced plans to resurrect the Ferguson TV brand.

The company will begin manufacturing new LED TV’s at its Bishop Auckland site from next month.

The new range will include seven screen sizes from 24″ to 75″ and will also feature 4K UHD on all sets from 50″ upwards.

The new range will also be Android Smart and have a curved screen.

Ferguson was a television market leader throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s when it was part of Thorn EMI Empire. The brand was later acquired by Thompson SA in 1987 but has disappeared over recent years.

Brian Palmer, CEO at Cello Electronics said, “I started out in this business selling Ferguson to consumers and truly understand the trust people had in the brand over the years. Having now come full circle I am proud to have the opportunity to bring this iconic brand back into the UK market.”
