BBC confirm plans for European base

Tony Hall said a decision would be made after 29th March

BBC director general Tony Hall has confirmed reports that the broadcaster is looking to establish a base in Amsterdam or Brussels after Brexit, according to The Times.

International channels such as BBC Entertainment, BBC Earth and BBC World require European licences in order to operate within the EU post-Brexit.

Hall stated that a small office with a few staff in Europe would allow the BBC to continue broadcasting in the EU, adding that a decision would be made after 29th March.
